SCMS Classes Search for a Pharaoh

Students in Ms. Thorn’s classroom worked collaboratively to research the job of a pharaoh. They worked together to read an article about the daily life of a pharaoh of Ancient Egypt and made note of all the different responsibilities that a community and religious leader had in ancient times. Then they worked together to create an classified ad for the local Pharaoh Times newspaper to be displayed in the hallway. They discussed the qualifications needed, including being a living god, the benefits of the job, like wealth beyond anyone’s imagination, and the job responsibilities, like keeping balance between the earth and the realm of the gods. Hopefully her class will be able to find a new pharaoh soon!
