Collaborating Across Grades: Character Creation

To correspond with the Thanksgiving holiday, students in Ms. Mindy’s sixth grade Career Choices class and Ms. Cindy’s preschool class worked together to complete a project. First, students listened to a read aloud of Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy’s Parade by Melissa Sweet. Students enjoyed the story as they were able to also listen to sound effects provided by Novel Effect. After the story, preschool students visited the Career Choices class, where they were paired with sixth grade students to created characters for a character parade. Students used Snorkl to draw characters on iPads and talk about their characters through the use of microphones. This was such a fun activity for all!
