Our fifth graders recently completed a special project that combined technology, creativity, and community service, all to support our Thanksgiving Food Drive!
Using AI to Spread the Word
Students used SchoolAI’s Sidekick to write their own advertisement scripts for the morning announcements. Every student worked independently to learn how AI can help with brainstorming, writing, and communication. Several student-created ads were featured on our school news, giving the food drive a big boost!

Partnering With 2nd Grade
To make the project even more meaningful, our fifth graders partnered with second graders to design food-drive flyers in Canva. Together, they selected colors, images, and text to create eye-catching posters that were shared throughout the school. The teamwork between the grade levels was inspiring!

Talking Head Videos
Students then turned their flyers into short video announcements using Canva’s “talking head” feature. Fifth graders recorded their scripts, second graders helped bring the designs to life, and everyone was excited to see their videos aired on the morning news.

A Project With Purpose
This project helped students:
-Learn safe, responsible AI use
-Build digital design and communication skills
-Practice leadership and teamwork
-Make a real difference for families in our community
We are so proud of their hard work, creativity, and big hearts! 🧡
