A Song for Our School: BES All School Sing and the Power of Giving

The BES All School Sing, held this winter, was a fun and meaningful event that brought our entire school community together to celebrate the season and raise funds for the PTG. With each grade level performing, the event not only showcased the talents of our students but also helped raise money for school supplies for the upcoming year. The first graders kicked things off with a joyful rendition of All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth, spreading cheer and setting the tone for the evening. Between the performances, the audience had the chance to bid on baskets of donated items, with the proceeds going directly to supporting our school community.

While the evening’s focus was on fun and festive performances, the event also provided an important lesson in civics and community engagement. By participating in the fundraiser, students learned the value of coming together to support a common cause, whether through fundraising or simply attending and enjoying the performances. It was a great way for students to connect with the traditions of our school and community, reinforcing the importance of being active, responsible members of society. This event serves as an excellent example of how educators at BES are promoting the understanding of history and civics in real-world settings, encouraging students to appreciate the role they play in shaping their community. Through events like the BES All School Sing, students not only learn about history but also live it by participating in the ongoing traditions that help strengthen their school and community bonds.
