In our festive “Santa’s Workshop” art activities, my first graders worked like joyful little elves—cutting, creating, and imagining as they brought holiday scenes to life. Their artwork became more than decorations; it connected beautifully to social studies as they explored community roles, traditions, and how people work together during special celebrations. A high school volunteer helped guide the students, encouraging their creativity and showing them what helpful community leadership looks like. Together, they turned our classroom into a place where learning, teamwork, and holiday cheer all came together.
