In my 5th Grade class, we took time to study diverse communities around the world! Students were given a teacher-created Google Slide deck, which they modified and added their own research about a community of their choosing from around the world! Students were tasked with answering open-ended questions about their community that were standards-based. We have enjoyed showing these presentations off in class! It is very cool to get students immersed in a culture that is much different from the culture that they were raised in.
