Read to your child daily!
Snuggle up and read at bedtime or anytime.
Make it interactive:
Ask questions, discuss characters, interesting words, and story problems. Encourage them to share their favorite part or retell the story.
Find reading everywhere:
Read words in recipes and road signs, or read to a stuffed animal or pet.
Make it fun:
Read in a fort, make a snack from the book, have a camp-style read night by flashlight in a tent, or use the strategy “Read and Tell Something.”
Visit the public library.
Be a role model:
Let them see you reading daily!
