This week, our students explored the meaning of Veterans Day by learning what a veteran is and discovering the history behind our country’s wars and the symbolism of the American flag. They discussed the courage and sacrifices of those who have served and why we honor them each year.
In science class, students applied their learning by designing and building flagpoles using toothpicks, popsicle sticks, and clay. They worked to create the tallest and strongest structures, combining creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving—all while thinking about the importance of the flag they would proudly display.
To celebrate Veterans Day, we were honored to share lunch with local veterans at our school. Students enjoyed hearing their stories, asking questions, and expressing gratitude for their service.
It was a meaningful week filled with history, hands-on learning, and appreciation for the heroes in our community.
