Mrs. Baugh’s fifth graders at Southern Elementary were inspired by her mother’s time in hospice and her recent passing. Wanting to make a difference, the students took the lead in organizing a snack drive for Hospice of Lake Cumberland. With teamwork and compassion, they collected donations from their families and classmates to support patients and staff. This project showed how even young students can lead with empathy and make a meaningful impact in their community.
